  • Lookup tool for CEDICT Chinese-English dictionary New 2011-8 Version!

    Perl script cedictlookup, version 1.2.1-a.4 (originally by David Hiebeler) for doing Chinese vocabulary lookup (by Chinese, pinyin, or English) from CEDICT-format vocabulary files.
    Script modified to lookup the new CEDICT-format vocabulary files containing both traditional and simplified Chinese in UTF8 encoding.
    Converts cedict tone numbers in- and output to tone marks pinyin.
    New version using a configuration file for easy adaptation of the parameter values to your preference, now also English 'fast exact' and Chinese wildcard lookup.

  • Convert pinyin tone numbers to tone marks New 2011-8 Version!

    The perl script utf8ify_pinyin.pl converts anything that looks like ASCII pinyin with tone numbers at the end of the word into utf-8 with proper pinyin tone marks.
    Converts also compound (not separated) tone number pinyin and capitals.
    Can be used to convert CEDICT! New version: avoids converting some chemical formulas into pinyin.

    The free planetarium program HNSKY for Windows can also be used under Linux using Wine.
    Open it in its directory using 'wine hnsky.exe'.

    "Hallo northern sky" or HNSKY is a planetarium program for windows. Have a try. It is free with 26000 deepsky objects and all stars to magnitude 12 and with the original GSC CD's, GSC-ACT or the USNO UCAC2 to magnitude 16. It displays all planets, the Moon, Sun, moons of Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Uranus and Neptune and a few hundred asteroids and comets. It comes with 255 small DSS (r) deepsky images which will blend in at the right size and orientation.
    It is complete with the SAO, PPM, Tycho-2 star databases, up to date deepsky database, Realsky (r) images and access to the external GSC and USNO CDROM star catalogs. Telescope control using the universal ASCOM package, a Realsky viewer (incl. source) DDE controlled from HNSKY and a BMP/JPEG to FITS conversion utility.
